Fasturn® - Who, What, Where, When

The Crowning Touch, Inc. was founded in 1987 - about the same time as Ethan Graham  was born (the son of David Graham, Ethan's picture can still be seen on our Fasturn Pattern, Baby Bib).  The company was created when Don and Emma Graham patented the Fasturn Fabric Tube Turning System (patent # 4,620,649), the Fasturn was invented by Don (but the inspiration was of course from Emma!). An engineer and artist, Don created the Fasturn in their home basement after Emma asked him to help her turn 20 fabric tubes she needed to make tie backs for their chairs. As Emma liked to note, she (along with nearly anyone who needed to turn a fabric tube) had always used her knitting needle to struggle through the turning process. Don,, after one go at using the needle, thought their HAD to be a better way. Down he went to the basement, and up he came with the first prototype of the Fasturn.

The Fasturn was our first product, and soon we learned just how important our invention was. Our company built our first plant and warehouse on Glory "C" road in Medford, Oregon. Quickly we outgrew our small plant as our Fasturn line of products grew, and our fame began to spread. We moved to South Stage and built our larger plant as well as a small retail space Emma named Fasturn Junction.  Our customers now ranged all over the world with major distributors in both Japan and Australia, and awards and honors for our products.

Our tools soon became known as one of the top sewing notions, and we constantly receive great notes and letters from those who use our tools and share their pleasure with the Fasturn.

Sadly, Emma Graham, our co founder and loving mom passed away in 2006. Though David Graham took over the daily operations, Don Graham is still on the board and continues to test new ideas and inventions.

David's two boys, 20 year old Ethan and 12 year old Joshua do help (when they feel up to it!), but the true work is done by our staff:

Rhonda Tesh, Office Manager at CT, Inc. Vicki Taylor, Production Manager and Plant Foreman (She has been with us since inception)

Kim Hansen, Store Supervisor

Carol, Karen, Mary-Jane, Sandi, Debra - all work with us and are often in our store to help and offer ideas.

We often say "It may be a man's world, but this company is woman run!"

Our company continues to move forward, and we hope you, too, will become part of our Fasturn Family!
